Welcome Friends, Family and you, oh obscure visitor!

While that is quite possiblly the worst photo I've ever been in (my scary-polynesian-headbanger-cakeface picture), this is the home page of the one and only Jim Jawn. For those of you not in the know, I'm joining the Peace Corps as of November 2nd, 2003 and moving the nation of Tonga for the next 27th months. Much in the fashion that trashmen are called "Sanitation Engineers", right now, my job title is "School Based Community Educator", but I've got a sneaking suspicion that I'm actually going to be a teacher. Anyways, that's what this site is about.

For those of you IN the know, this is my electronic home where I'll upload pictures, tell hilarious stories and complain about miscellaneous stuff. Right now, not all of the links are working. I plan on remedying that as soon as I can, but I'm under some time constraints. I promise though, that once I get some real free time, I'll polish this bad boy up. As of right now, I'm not sure what the Peace Corps director's policy is on publishing your stuff on the internet while you're in service (for some reason, the whole thing is a bit clandestine) so I'm not sure what my blog is going to end up looking like, but I can't imagine that I won't be able to upload some pics when I get the chance.

Blah, blah, blah... Anyways, the site is broken up into 4 main sections, which are detailed below:

  • About: Read about me, my cheesy resume, my assignment in Tonga, Tonga itself, my experience with the peace corps program up to this point and the world wise school program.
  • Blog: Basically, this is my online journal. I'll try to keep pertinent and fun information about the wacky adventures I have volunteering in Tonga.
  • Photos: Pictures that I've taken. I got a kick rear end camera for graduation and would like to consider myself a thoughtful and budding photo graph err... Sort of. I'm hoping I'll have time to learn how to take real photographs and post them. Keep posted for images from Tonga and nutty people that I meet.
  • Resources: Here you can find links that would be interesting to people looking to join the peace corps, some of stuff that I've been using to program or have programmed or altered, the world wise schools program and other randomly useful links.
  • Contact: Get in touch with me, see what sort of stuff I'm looking to collect for my programs and my self, and I think I'll have a guest book eventually too.
